The result of our public online vote for the best 'pimp my sofa' design is in. We are delighted to announce the Kaleidoscope Table designed by 22 year old Gemma Williams from Swansea the winner, Gemma will collect a £500 cash prize.

I wanted my design to be fun and bright. Originally I was just going to
decorate it with the theme of a kaleidoscope, however it seemed stupid
not to incorporate an actual kaleidoscope into the design and make it
interactive. I think that because it is a piece of furniture it should still
be functional and for people to actually use rather than just look at it.
I feel that the bright colours of the table reflect the childlike nature of
kaleidoscopes and also my own personality.

I am a 22 year old Graphic Designer. I grew up in Swansea and am currently in my third and final year of a BA in Graphic Design at the University of Wales, Newport. I mainly design for print based outcomes and am very interested in working in a way which gets away from using the computer as the main tool for making images.
